Gautier Capuçon’s 2025 Warner Classics record, Gaïa, is an album of contemporary music inspired by and dedicated to our planet Earth.

This unique album features 16 original works commissioned specifically for the project from composers representing diverse cultures and musical worlds. Each piece has its own distinct voice, resulting in a rich blend of styles that highlights the classical cello across genres ranging from world music and film scores to R&B, electronic music, and jazz.

The cello itself—and one of its most renowned performers—serves as the common thread linking these eclectic elements. As each composer responds to the question, “What does the Earth represent to you?”, the album explores humanity’s relationship with the environment, calls attention to the urgency of environmental preservation, and urges immediate action in the face of climate change.

Gautier has chosen to celebrate its release and to showcase it through an exceptional music video filmed in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif in Chamonix. Europe’s highest peak, rising to 4,806 meters, and its surrounding range form one of the planet’s most extraordinary natural treasures—where the effects of climate change are felt with painful intensity every day.

Through Danuta’s passion for mountains and knowledge of the Mont Blanc Massif and dpia’s office in Chamonix, we produced the music video with the aim to raise awareness about the urgent need to preserve our most precious environment.

We structured the financing and put an expert team together composed of mountain guides and a filming crew. The video was submitted and accepted at part of the UN Year for Glacier Preservation. The video opened World Glacier Day and the UN Decade of Action for Cryospheric Action  at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on March 28th 2026 in front of ministerial delegations and scientists  from the entire world.

The video premiered in front of an audience of 3000 people at San Francisco Symphony during the Gaïa opening concert on November 16th 2025. The European premiere took place at Fondation Louis Vuitton on December 4th 2025. It was also featured on France Televisions.
